From November 11th to 15th, the 22nd annual meeting of the International Organization for Standardization Nanotechnology Committee (hereinafter referred to as "ISO/TC229") was held at the ISO conference base in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. More than 110 foreign experts from 17 countries including the United States, Japan, Germany, South Korea, Iran, the United Kingdom, Canada, and South Africa, and more than 40 domestic representatives from universities, enterprises, measurement, testing and other fields participated in the conference.

ISO/TC229 consists of five working groups: terminology, measurement and characterization, environmental health and safety, material specifications and product application. More than 50 international standardization projects were discussed at this meeting. ISO/TC229 has long been committed to the formulation of overall and fundamentally important standards for nanotechnology. It is composed of 34 P-member countries and 21 O-member countries. It is the technical committee with the highest degree of participation and the most attention by experts from all countries in the ISO system. One of the standards it publishes plays an important role in market regulation, occupational health and international trade in the nano-industry.
