What is the standard? Some people think that standards are just cold strings of data written on paper, documents that prescribe common and reusable rules, guidelines or characteristics for activities or their outcomes, for optimal order within a certain range. Its role is to judge whether a product is qualified. In fact, the standard is far from being as simple as imagined, and its power cannot be underestimated.
For most of the 1980s and early 1990s, Apple had a graphical user interface that was much more advanced than Microsoft. As a result of the competition, however, $100 billion of shareholder value shifted from Apple to Microsoft as Microsoft went all out to make its own operating system the industry standard.
Also in the 1990s, Rifeng Company took the lead in introducing aluminum-plastic pipe production technology and equipment, creating a precedent for the domestic aluminum-plastic pipe industry. In the following four years, the total sales volume has increased by 30 times, and the profit has surged at an annual rate of more than 50%. Thus, the effectiveness of the standard is evident.
Graphene industry as an emerging field. When everything is not so regular and clear, mastering some advanced technologies will indeed bring you some benefits, will allow you to spy on unlimited business opportunities, and will make you mistakenly think that the listing of companies is just around the corner. However, it backfires. Your company may be slowly submerged in the wave of industry development, and you will no longer find your original superiority. Even if you master more advanced technology, your end will be the same as Apple in the 1990s. , drinking hatred on industry standards that are so close and unfamiliar. Perhaps, you would say that we have our own scientific corporate standards. But this is far from enough. In an immature industry, if you want to make your own enterprise standard advanced and referable, make it an industry standard as much as possible, even if you only participate in the formulation of industry standards, this will put the enterprise in an extremely favorable position.
Now, standardization is so close to you. In November 2013, the China Graphene Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance officially set the Taizhou Graphene and Testing Platform as the national graphene research and testing public service platform and the Secretariat of the China Graphene Standardization Committee, in order to better understand the entire domestic graphite industry. The olefin industry provides professional testing and standardization services. In 2014, the platform was approved as the national torch plan platform and the leader unit of the national standard formulation working group.
Starting from the conversion relationship between technical standards and the objective existence of the market and profits, standards are a market resource. Its "resource" attribute is shown as: through the procedural operation of drafting standards, the enterprise can justifiably communicate the social relations in the industry, from the government to the industry association, from experts to scholars, from scientific research institutions to management departments... The rationalization and establishment of these social relations is undoubtedly a valuable and long-term effective market resource for a shrewd entrepreneur. For enterprises that establish industry standards, what they get is not only a higher market share, but a higher profit margin than their competitors and the initiative to compete in the future market.
