(Summary description)What is graphene Graphene is a single-layer carbon atomic face material exfoliated from graphite materials. The thickness of this graphite crystal film is only 0.314 nanometers. When 200,000 films are stacked together, it is only as thick as a hair. Graphene is very strong. At the same time, it has the same good electrical conductivity as copper, and it surpasses all other materials currently known in terms of thermal conductivity.

Ding Rong, born in 1981, is a native of Taixing. Graduated from Taixing Middle School in the province, studied physics at Shanghai Jiaotong University with a bachelor's and master's degrees, and worked in Germany, the United States, Singapore, and Shanghai successively. He is currently the chairman of Taizhou Juna New Energy Co., Ltd., the chairman of Shanghai Juna Technology Co., Ltd., and a director of many companies at home and abroad.

An electric car can be fully charged in a minute, a high-definition movie can be downloaded in a second, a smartphone can be carried in a different way: rolled up and clipped over the ear… These are all related to a new material, graphene.
Graphene, which is transparent and has good electrical conductivity, is expected to be used in the manufacture of touch screens, light guide plates, and even solar cells.
Graphene can also be used to make new super-strong materials that are thin, light, and elastic. In the future, satellites, airplanes and cars can all be made of this new synthetic material.
In July 2010, the country's first company specializing in the preparation of graphene materials settled in Taizhou. Ding Rong, chairman and general manager of the company, said: "We will build a "China olefin valley" in Taizhou.
Find a new way to make graphene
Although graphene has a very broad application prospect, it is very difficult to prepare graphene, and the cost per gram of graphene can be as high as 1,000 yuan, which is called "black gold".
Because of such high cost, it is difficult to market graphene. "If graphene is to benefit mankind, a lower-cost production method must be found," said Ding Rong.
In 2010, Taizhou student Ding Rong brought back a scientific research team and established Taizhou Juna New Energy Co., Ltd.
He and his team are always looking for new ways to make graphene. By chance, they learned that a company had a large amount of waste graphite that was difficult to handle. So, after they bought it cheaply, they were able to conduct adequate experiments. And it was the experiments again and again that allowed them to find a way to manufacture graphene at low cost.
"There are also enterprises in Taizhou that produce lithium batteries, and defective batteries are difficult to recycle and pollute the environment." Ding Rong said that by recycling the graphite in used batteries to prepare graphene, it is truly turning waste into treasure.
Ding Rong told reporters that their team's method of preparing graphene has applied for a national patent. "This method can produce graphene on a large scale, no longer calculated in grams, but in tons, and the cost per gram can be reduced to less than 1 yuan."
At present, the company is preparing to build 6 professional laboratories. "Research on the use of graphene to produce button batteries, touch screens, electro-optic modulators, etc." Ding Rong gave reporters an example. A battery made of graphene may have a power storage capacity of five times that of existing batteries, and the touch screen can be bent. .
"Because of the emergence of graphene, the future will be even more magical." Ding Rong said.
This team loves Taizhou cuisine
Ding Rong and his team are credited with inventing a new method for preparing graphene.
This team is mainly composed of Ph.D.s who have studied in the United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. Some of the core members have studied under the father of graphene in the world and the 2010 Nobel Prize winner in physics-Professor Gaim of the University of Manchester.
In 2006, scientists all over the world were paying attention to graphene. But at that time, the application technology of graphene was not mature.
"We are all studying graphene, and we have been waiting for the technology to mature." Until 2010, Ding Rong and his friends decided to form a company to develop graphene.
But where to build the company has become a problem. "We want to build China's 'ene valley'." Ding Rong inspected many places and finally decided to build the company in Taizhou.
"At first, many people in the team disapproved of this decision." Ding Rong said, now that time has passed, the members of the team are more and more fond of life in Taizhou.
"Everyone said that Taizhou's food is delicious." Ding Rong told reporters that one of his friends flew to the United States that night after drinking Meilanchun wine in Taizhou. After this friend came to the United States, he called Ding Rong and said that he still felt the fragrance of Mei Lanchun wine in his mouth.
"Everyone is very happy to work in Taizhou." Ding Rong said. Reporter Xiong Jingjing Correspondent Chen Ying
