The country's first reading special issue targeting the leading cadres of the party and government organs - "Liberation Book List" will be launched today. This was launched in order to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's request for leading cadres during his inspection tour in Shanghai in May this year to "spend less time for entertainment and more time to read and think quietly". Han Zheng, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, wrote an article entitled "Reading in Meditation" for the first issue of "Liberation Book List".

Shanghai must be the vanguard of the country's reform and opening up and the forerunner of scientific development. Leading cadres at all levels must strive to be the first. First of all, they must make great efforts to study and study. Han Zheng put forward the requirements of studying hard, thinking more, and making good use of it. He pointed out that a city that does not like to read is a city without hope. This time, Jiefang Daily and the Municipal Press and Publication Bureau planned to launch the "Liberation Book List" to recommend good books to leading party and government cadres, which is very meaningful. It is hoped that leading cadres at all levels in the city will act consciously, set off a boom in reading and learning, and drive the entire city to be full of scholarly fragrance and become more intelligent.
